March 2, 2026, Moscow – A new Design Center with an area of 1,520 sq. m. opened at the head office of the Research Institute of Precision Engineering (NIITM, part of the Element Group of Companies, MOEX: ELMT) in Zelenograd.
Its creation aims to accelerate the full equipment development cycle—from concept and engineering calculations to the creation of working design documentation. By bringing together specialized specialists in a single space, collaboration between teams will become more effective, and project implementation timelines will be reduced.

The Center houses seven key departments of the institute. Engineers, designers, programmers, and other specialists collaborate directly. Today, over 100 employees work here, including specialists in new areas of equipment development: robotic systems and ion implantation. The Center's design also takes into account the company's future growth, allowing for even more employees, which aligns with the company's human resources development strategy.
The space was designed using NIITM's own funds and meets modern workspace requirements: it combines private offices, open office areas, and meeting rooms of varying sizes. The extensive modernization extended beyond the interior: the façade glazing was updated and all utility lines were completely replaced.

The Precision Engineering Research Institute is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of specialized technological equipment for the microelectronics industry. As part of the comprehensive "Electronic Engineering Development" program, the institute is actively developing key import-substituting equipment, and the new Center will accelerate these processes, improving the speed and quality of innovative solutions.
"The main objective of the new Center is to address complex scientific and production challenges related to the design and development of equipment, components, and assemblies; software development; and the testing and trialing of installations," emphasized Mikhail Biryukov, Director General of NIITM.
The Element Group of Companies (MOEX:ELMT) is a joint venture between AFK Sistema and the Rostec State Corporation, established in 2019 to form a unified national center of excellence for microelectronics development and production in Russia. The Group comprises over 30 design centers and production sites, including the Mikron chip factory, the Molecular Electronics Research Institute (NIIME), the Electronic Engineering Research Institute (NIIET), Progress, the Vostok Scientific-Production Enterprise, the Precision Engineering Research Institute (NIITM), and others. The Group's companies develop new technologies in the following areas: electronic component components, units and modules, and power electronics. The company holds over 480 patents and produces over 3,000 product types. In May 2024, Element held an IPO. The funds raised were used to expand production, launch new products, and pursue international expansion. In January 2026, AFK Sistema, which owned 37.6% of the shares, completely withdrew from Element's shareholder base, selling its stake to Sber.
JSC NIITM (JSC Research Institute of Precision Engineering, part of the Element Group of Companies, MOEX:ELMT) is a leading developer and manufacturer of a wide range of industrial and research technological equipment for the microelectronics industry. The institute was founded in 1962. It develops systems for plasma-enhanced chemical etching, vapor deposition, physical deposition, epitaxial growth, and gas-thermal processing, as well as cluster complexes based on these systems for processing wafers up to 300 mm in diameter. It is an active participant in the Integrated Projects and State Programs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. It is included in the register of organizations operating in the electronics industry.
