The Russian robotics industry is entering a phase of qualitative changes. The growing demand for automation, personnel shortages in industry, the departure of foreign suppliers and active government policy have formed a powerful development impulse, which is already reflected in key market indicators. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the volume of the domestic robotics market at the end of 2024 reached 10.3 billion rubles, an increase of a third. Domestic production of industrial robots has grown 4.5 times, a result that seemed unattainable just a few years ago.
The Russian robotics industry is developing unevenly. Most of the companies today are focused on the creation of service and household robots, while about 20 Russian enterprises are engaged in the development of industrial solutions, according to the RAR. About 150 companies are already engaged in the production and integration of robotic systems (RTS), which is one of the most dynamic segments.
Mechanical engineering, automotive and logistics remain active consumers of industrial robots. However, in recent years, the food industry has shown considerable interest: here robotization is growing faster than the market average. Automation of the processes of packaging, sorting and quality control can make this industry one of the areas of technological leadership in Russia.
Government policy is reinforcing the trend towards the introduction of robotics. In accordance with national development goals, Russia should enter the top 25 countries in terms of robotization density by 2030. To do this, the density needs to be increased from today's 19 robots per 10,000 workers (with a global average of 162) to 194 robots. This requires an increase in the fleet of industrial robots by more than 9 times - from 12.8 thousand to 123 thousand units.

Achieving the goal involves an average annual growth of about 38%, which is significantly higher than the current pace and requires systematic work: from supporting component manufacturers to re-equipping enterprises and developing engineering competencies.
According to RoboJobs and the National Association of Robotics Market Participants, external factors in recent years have actually stimulated the development of the industry. Staff shortages, sanctions, and the departure of foreign brands have freed up the market and made automation more attractive to investors.

In other words, the industry is moving from the stage of survival to active growth.

Today, industrial robots are about 80% localized, but the goal is to achieve complete independence. At the same time, logistical barriers to the supply of components from China remain significant: for industrial enterprises, downtime even for several days is an unacceptable risk. Therefore, "your own is faster and more reliable" becomes the main principle of the market.
Modern robotization goes beyond mechanics. Next-generation solutions include:

Such systems allow robots to adapt to changing conditions, and enterprises to receive a measurable economic effect: reducing defects, speeding up production cycles, and saving resources.
Robots are no longer a niche technology. Today it is the main tool for the modernization of industry. Almost all industries need to increase productivity and reduce costs, which means that the market will grow at an accelerated pace in the next 5-10 years. The vector is obvious: the transition from imported solutions to local complexes, from single implementations to large-scale robotization programs.
