The development of power electronics today is directly linked to the use of new semiconductor materials. One of the most promising is silicon carbide (SiC), which enables the creation of devices operating at higher temperatures, voltages, and frequencies than traditional silicon solutions.

TTM specializes in the supply of technological equipment for microelectronic production, including technologies related to the use of SiC.

From single crystal to epitaxial wafer

The production of silicon carbide devices is a complex, multi-stage process. It includes single-crystal growth, wafer fabrication, mechanical and chemical processing, polishing, epitaxial growth, and subsequent processes to form the microchip structures.

The initial stages are particularly critical: producing SiC single crystals, cutting and preparing the wafers, and forming the epitaxial layer. It is at these stages that the key characteristics of future devices are established: the quality of the crystal structure, the material's imperfections, and the electrical parameters of the devices.

High demands on process precision and material purity make the selection of the right process equipment a key factor in the development of power electronics production.

Prospects for SiC in Microelectronics

Growing demand for power components is driven by developments in the energy sector, electric transport, telecommunications, and industrial electronics. The use of silicon carbide significantly improves the efficiency of power devices, reduces thermal loss, and enhances their performance. Therefore, increasing attention is being paid to developing technologies necessary for the production of SiC wafers and epitaxial structures on them.

We invite you to the TTM stand

At ExpoElectronica, TTM specialists will be happy to meet with industry representatives to discuss technological challenges facing enterprises, prospects for the development of microelectronic manufacturing, and potential solutions for project implementation.

The TTM team invites visitors to its stand No. D7113, Pavilion 3, Hall 15 , to meet in person, share experiences, and find optimal approaches to modern industry challenges.
